(More customer reviews)I recently had to replace my old machine heads as one of them would not stay put, slowly letting the string slip out of tune.These are worth the money, and the little bit of time you will take to put them into a guitar that has previously had another brand/style of machine head on them.They really do make string changes easier, the locking mechanism is like having a third hand.You also don't have to wrap the string around the peg any longer.You pull the string through the hole, clamp it down with the lock, cut off the excess and tune it up-your done.If needed you could easily still drop it down to a d tuning, Im not sure about a c.If I try it out Ill update this review to let you know.
The frosted silver look is very nice, I think it makes my guitasr look a bit classier.The tuners dont have as much hieght as the last set did, which is something else I like.This set comes in a few color options too, so you can match it to your guitar however you want.Ive seen blue, gold, black, silver, and black and gold.
When installing, you may need to drill new holes into your guitar.Don't get too stressed.Make sure that the holes are not tight, but allow the pin to slip into the hole easily.I tried it with a tight fit and the guide pins got stuck and came out, and I had to fix it. The big holes where the tuning pegs are going to go in also may need to be a bit bigger, and the general way I have read online is that people have simply taken some thin sandpaper, rolled it into a tube, and slowly went at it to add the extra space needed.I luckily did not need to do this.But if you read this and thought you would be comfortable drilling holes in your own guitar, go for it.
