I bought this tuner after seeing a wind player using the chromatic version, which I was very impressed with. It has three tuning modes, one of which is a strobe-tuner imitation mode.
Being a bass player who uses an extended-range bass, I need a tuner that zeros in on low notes well, and this tuner does. The strobe mode is excellent and zeros pitches easily and with superb accuracy.
Even so, I'm going to quit using it. The GT4 has a problem that makes it very irritating to use. To get it to register bass notes, the player has to play extremely loudly. At moderate to soft volume, this tuner simply doesn't register at all. The problem is the same no matter what note I'm tuning. This presents a major problem on stage because I can't easily get to my amp's mute switch to tune. I play a high-output active preamp bass, so signal strength should not be a problem. The Korg CA-30 and TM-40 flawlessly zero in on pitches at low volume.
I haven't checked whether this problem is the same with guitar mode. It affects all three tuning modes. While the accuracy of the tuner and the readability of the three modes are excellent, the signal strength problem makes it less than useful to me. I just can't blast out in performance to tune. If your situation is different, this may not be a problem for you.
