(More customer reviews)I bought these Fender 70's F Tuners to replace the tuners on my 1982 "Dan Smith" Fender Stratocaster. The guitar was originally fitted with these tuners but I changed them for a different type some time in the mid 80's. I wanted to put the guitar back to as original condition as possible. These tuners are an exact replica of the Schaller tuners that the guitar was fitted with from the factory, the screw holes lined up exactly with the previous mounting holes. The gear ratio on these tuners is 16:1
So far I haven't had any tuning problems with the guitar. I'm not sure if these tuners are still made by Schaller but they feel smooth, if not somewhat slightly stiff to turn. There is a hole down the center of the shaft just like the originals.
So far I'm ver happy with the performance of these tuners, my aim was to put the guitar back to original condition and since I lost the original tuners these fit the bill perfectly.
They seem to range in price from $39.99 to $59.99 so shop around, I managed to get them for $39.99.
