Once you put these babies on your 12 string guitar, you will never go back to standard tuners. I got a pair of the larger version of Grover locking tuners to refurbish my old acoustic 6 string and wondered why I had waited so long. Previous experience with Grover tuners some 45 years ago should have kicked in and told my brain to do this. These mini's were not made for acoustic, but I put them on my 35 year old 12 string (2 sets of 3 X 3) and now it takes about 5 minutes to change the strings. That is as compared to about 2 hours without the locking feature of these tuners. And you don't have to have miniature hand and a 3rd arm growing out of your chest anymore when you start winding them either. I don't know why nobody else makes quality tuners for 12 strings. There is plenty of room on the headstock for these mini heads. The guitar also stays in tune better, looks better, and has a deeper-warmer-richer tone. I will never have a guitar without Grover locking tuners of one form or another. Trust me, with locking tuners your life will be soooooo much easier when restringing. One of the reason 12 stings set in the corner is because when the strings get old and won't stay in tune, it's such a hassle to change them. Insert, screw down, snip, wind, play. It's that simple. I love this product, as well as its big brother. I also recommend medium stings, as they stay in tune much better, so your 12 sting will be used for playing instead of decoration.
