Kratt Master Key Chromatic Pitch Pipe with Note Selector - C to C Review

I purchased this item for my husband who leads Acapella singing in the church of Christ services. He is very satisfied with the product and low price found on amazone. He particularily likes the note selector which more accurately helps him get the right pitch the first time. Highly recommended by my song leading husband.

Farley's Pocket Tones PT-16 Chromatic F Tuner Review

After a dramatic (and quite embarrassing) failure with our gospel quartet's reed pitchpipe, it was time for an update/upgrade -- and the Farley's Pocket Tones got the job. So far, I'm pleased with the overall functionality, although the tone could be more aesthetically pleasing. It has all the timbre of a smoke alarm -- which is to say, it's a pure tone without any overtones. For the money, it can't be beat ... but I'd have paid a few more bucks to get a more subtle/pleasing/unobtrusive tonality.

Kratt Master Key Pitch Pipe C to C Review

Kratt Master Key Pitch Pipe C to C

I recently bought a dulcimer, and needed something to help me tune the instrument. Yes, there are all kinds of electronic tools out there, but this pitch pipe fits in my case, never needs batteries, can be slipped into my pocket - it's just too convenient not to use.
Now, a pitch pipe requires that you have an ear that can tell when the pitch on the instrument matches the pitch on the pipe. If you want a needle or a digital readout to tell you when you're in tune, don't buy this.
The only reason I didn't go with five-stars is I can't swear to you that the pitches on the pipe are "exact". I'm trusting that Kratt accurately calibrated their pipe, and have no evidence to the contrary. With that warning, this meets my needs.

Farleys Pocket Tones: Chromatic-C Review

Farleys Pocket Tones: Chromatic-C
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased two of the Farleys Pocket Tones. After a month or so, one of the devices is broken: it runs through the battery set quickly, without my using it.
The other one still works, but I find it isn't a perfect solution. First, there's no real on-off switch. You use the Pocket Tones by pressing one of the pitch keys and then pressing that same one again. So, it's always ready to play, even when in a bag or in my pocket. And it does. Often.
I've come across it singing to itself in my pocket or bag. This can kill the array of batteries at times. There's no way to know what the battery status is and I've had it die at times when I needed it.
At the minimum, it needs an on-off switch. I'm looking at non-electric solutions.
