(More customer reviews)I own a 2009 Fender American Deluxe Strat among several other guitars. This is by far the nicest guitar I've ever owned. Mine is 3-tone sunburst, and the finish is flawless. I searched carefully and couldn't find anything wrong with it. It's an absolutely beautiful guitar. As soon as I took it out of the box, I immediately plugged it in to give it a whirl. My wife was in the other room and said,"I didn't know you could play guitar that good!" This is after twenty years of listening to me play. The setup was perfect for me out of the box. I didn't need to adjust a thing. The frets are extremely smooth and comfortable for extended playing. The neck is narrow like most Strats, but it works perfectly for my small hands. The noiseless pickups are actually noiseless! There was none of the annoying hum I have with my cheaper Squier Strat's single coil pickups. With the S-1 switch, it has a lot of different pickup combinations that allow me to play in almost any style from country to blues to metal. I haven't even figured out what all it can do yet. I just know it can make a ton of different sounds.
I have nothing bad to say. This is an excellent guitar. It's a high end, professional guitar at a decent price. I recommend it highly.

(More customer reviews)I have a handful of guitars in my arsenal and this one is my absolute favourite. I bought mine with a rosewood neck and it has the best feel and playability of any electric guitar I've played. The body is solid alder, finished with a beautiful "cherryburst" finish. I can sometimes look at my acoustic guitars and they will go out of tune, but this guitar will stay tuned for days, even with me bending notes and finger plucking the strings. It has a pretty pearloid pickguard which complements the sweet color of the alder body. The samarian cobalt pickups are as quiet as a church mouse when the guitar is idle but cry and sing when the Tele is being played. One of the really cool things about this guitar is the "S-1 switch", which is a button on the volume knob. When the pickup selector is in the middle (activating the bridge and the neck pickups) and the "S-1 switch" button is pushed down, it changes the pickup circuit from parallel to series, resulting in a fat, Les Paul-like sound. The back of the body is "scalloped" so it is perfect to play either sitting down or standing up, which makes it a pleasure to use in both the studio and when playing live. This guitar is made in the U.S.A. at the Fender factory in Corona, CA. It is a lifetime instrument, something you'll be able to pass on to future generations.

The Build
This guitar is a quality built guitar. 2 Pieces of Alder with amazing quality to the Sunburst finish. It is a gorgeous guitar body. The neck is a thin C-shape with a unique design. It is glossy and thinner than the C-Shaped Mexican Strat Necks or the US Strat Necks. The medium-jumbo frets on the rosewood neck have no sharp edges and seem perfectly installed. The guitar came in the box, perfectly set up, although I needed to set the pickup heights a little differently and change the intonation a little with the bridge saddles. (This should be expected on almost any guitar.) There were a few dinks on the fretboard from the factory, but nothing that affects play at all.
The Hardware
The Tuners are vintage tuners that I have seen on some Us Strats and even the Kenny Wayne Signature Mexican Strat. They stay in tune perfectly well and seem like a great quality. The Bridge and saddles seem to be a good quality. The trem has a zinc trem block that seems less than the quality that I would want. I'm not sure why they don't have a higher quality stainless block.
The Electronics
The Pickups are Alnico and sound great. (remember that the stock Fender Bullet Strings are garbage and need to be changed.) Throw some decent strings on it and you will find that the pickups are fantastic. Tons of character from the notch settings. You get great Strat Spank and quack with a great sound. What surprises me in a huge way is the sustain. This guitar sustains way better than ANY Strat US or MExican that I have ever tried. (I assume that this is a combination of the quality build, the Hardware and the Electronics.)
The Sound
This guitar has a fantastic unique sound. Playing through several amps, this guitar sounded high quality through all of them. You will not find any Squier that has this kind of quality sound and sustain. Not even the Mexican Made Strats have this great sound. The older MIM strats all have ceramic pickups that are no good. This strat has high quality ALNICO pickups.
The Feel
The neck is thin, and if you like a thin neck this guitar feels amazing. I love the feel of this guitar. If you blindfolded me, I might pick the feel of this guitar over any strat that I have ever played.
Overall
You won't find a Strat with such a high quality and interesting sound as good for this price anywhere. If you like the sound and feel, you should feel lucky to find a guitar for this price. I could play this onstage or with any amp and be happy with the sound and sustain.
My guess about this guitar is that they had the China Squier factory use top quality parts and has developed a better quality control system to make these guitars more consistently good.
I love these guitars. Mine is easily becoming my favorite strat to hear, feel and play.

Everything one needs is there, including a tuner, a stand, picks and even spare strings. The instructional DVD is quite nice as well. I have no problem following the courses so far. The lessons only cover the basic chords, but still enough to get one started.
The price here fluctuates, but tends not to be very competitive. Some buyers have even received used guitars posing as new. Check out overstock.

This is a great guitar for beginner or expert.
It's sold and well built.
The sound from it is great.
You can spend more for a guitar but why? This does just about everything thing you could want a guitar to do.
If you have kids that want to start playing or if you want to learn, this is the guitar for you.
I would also recommend Intelli IMT-900 Chromatic Clip-on Tuner. It does not use sound it uses the vibrations of the strings to tune your guitar. So if you are in a noisy room, cheep amp, etc.. it will not effect the tuning.

It's hardware and pickups are very good quality, and the 3-piece body is seamless. I love playing this bass and I do so everyday. One of the best features about this bass is the price. For the quality of it, I would be willing to pay twice as much. Compared to a Fender Jazz bass, it is really the same thing, just stamped with Squier. I am expecting this instrument to last me for years to come.

Also, I think it's outclassed by the new amps from Line-6 and Fender - particularly the Mustang I. I'll be exchanging his for the Mustang I which sound cleaner, can sound like a small tube amp, a Marshall and others for the same price. I think the Fender is a better value and more versatile.

This tele is less of a country girl than some of her cousins. She's got a little less twang and more snap and bite. Still the classic tele, but with a touch more sophistication. I can't imagine anyone who likes the tele sound not loving this instrument.

(More customer reviews)Note: this review is for the whole "kit", not just the guitar or the amp. Also, it pertains to all 3 colors; I don't know why they have them as separate packages. (Maybe the sunburst one has better sustain? Ummm...right. Mine is black, if it matters.)
I noticed people are not reviewing this on Amazon and frankly, that's a shame! They (guitar/amp) are a fabulous instrument. So we're clear, this is a budget and/or noob package but I say that in no way to impugn its quality. It's significantly ahead of any 'Targ-mart' special you can get for only a bit less; then again I got mine on Labor Day special for 1/2 price--awesome!
Let's get "the missing star" stuff out of the way first:
- The tone knobs for neck/middle are more like switches. 0-2 is "dark" and 3-10 is bright. There's not much in between.
- The "tremolo" bar (classic misnomer) and bridge are low-budget so this is upgrade territory. For me, I'm not much into the whammy, so it's moot.
- Of the 5 pickup settings, only the bridge-alone one sounds truly unique. However, this is not a biggee to me as it seems fairly common. The pickups are not high-end (another upgrade potential) but if you're a beginner or you're playing for fun, in a church band or anything where $ is not on the table these p'uppies are surprisingly good sounding!
So, back to our 4-star combo features. Though it's a Chinese-made Squier it's still a Fender and they have to maintain standards. The fretboard/neck feels good and is solid and the tuning knobs get the job done; mine stays in tune reasonably well. The guitar as a whole looks like a Strat--not much difference from 5 feet away so if you like the Strat look, this one will be pleasing. The little 10-watt Squier amp has nothing to be ashamed of! It's very simple and it complements the axe quite well; in fact I like its sound better than my Line 6 Spider III 15W amp. I've even seen it at pawn shops for $50 so people must realize that it's pretty impressive for its category. Finally, the quartz tuner works fine but there are better ones out there to be sure.
To put everything, especially quality, in perspective, I like to ask, "if you drug Eric Clapton into trading his million-dollar-baby for this model and, after he sobers up you both play them, who sounds better?"
So, thumbs up for this combo. Professional musicians may not want the guitar unless they want to use it for a "project" and do some surgery to turn it into a great player. But for younger/newer and/or cash-strapped folk, you'd do well to own one. Mine's a keeper!

If those had been included, I would have gotten 5 stars.
Great Tone, Great Features, Fender online guitar training rocks (so you really don't need the dvd). Good Buy for the price, just make sure you buy a gig bag too.

(More customer reviews)I've waited a long time for this instrument. I only became aware that Fender was making a Tele with a B-bender installed about five years ago. But I was reluctant to buy it because I thought that- for the price- it had to be a Mexican import. Not so. The guitar is fantastic! Slick, fast neck, great pickups, and the bender works slicker than deer guts on a doorknob! I've been a fan of Clarence White for 44 years and a devotee of Bernie Leadon of the Eagles, so when I got the Nashville I started trying to play their solos the way they did, with the Bender. I'm telling the truth: get one of these and you'll start finding all kinds of ways to play licks you never thought you could. I can't put it down, and the sound is stellar. I never much cared for Telecasters before, but this one has made me a Fender fan!

Its just amazingly perfect for playing at home!!
It includes everything. And I mean everything that you might need. Its not even mentioned in the product description that a headset is also included! Which is totally what I needed as I play it for hours and hours and I should not be disturbing others. Amp is cool, its loud enough for home use. It has Bass and Treble effects as well which is very cool. A guitar stand is also included which makes it easy to keep the guitar when not in use.
About the guitar itself, it needed a bit of tuning when I took it out of the box, but that was again very easy with the chromatic tuner provided. After that tuning its just been sounding inch perfect!
Everyone around me is in love with this guitar. Trust me it won't let you down. A fender is always a good choice! Specially if it comes with all the accessories for a really great price!
About amazon, very fast service, cheers!!
