(More customer reviews)I've been playing the guitar for over 50 years, from rock and roll to church music. And the BR-180 is the finest guitar I have ever owned. The workmanship is beautiful, and the tone has to be heard to be believed. The first time I heard one was a couple of years ago in Kentucky while on vacation. It was a bluegrass group, and as soon as they took a break I ran forward to ask the guitar player what kind of guitar he was playing. It was a BR-180. I've never heard another guitar with the tone of the BR-180, not even Martins or Taylors. As soon as I got home from vacation, I sold three of my other guitars and bought a BR-180. It will be the last guitar I ever buy, as I can't fathom that I'll ever find another one as good, especially considering that it is essentially a D-45 for 1/10th the price. Not to mention, I rarely play my other guitars now. Buy it!

Spring Capo Fender Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this capo at target. It's incredibly cheap, and it does what it's supposed to do, holds the strings down. Have a little trouble on the first and second frets, but that's about it. It's very simple and durable. I've had it for about 3 years, and i don't want to replace it.

Washburn Timber Craft Series D52SWK Acoustic Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)This is the first Washburn that I have ever owned, and I am already a very convinced convert to the brand. I currently own a Yamaha acoustic guitar, a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, and an Ovation acoustic electric guitar - the Washburn Timber Craft Series D52SW is quickly becoming my favorite to play!
TONE: The sound is full and vibrant. The very appealing tone no doubt has to do with its solid mahogany back and sides. Mahogany is known for producing a "bright, balanced tone that is darker than maple but brighter than rosewood." You don't have to strum very hard to create a fair amount of volume. Finally, the Buzz Feiten Tuning System (which is standard on all Washburn guitars) helps to correct intonation problems that other guitar brands might experience.
LOOK: The solid spruce top meshes well with the mahogany and is a timeless color that will always look great. The rosewood butterfly bridge adds some personality and matches the rosewood fingerboard. The classic coloring works well for young and old guitarists and is appropriate for any setting.
FEEL: The shape of the guitar makes for a very comfortable playing experience. It simply feels great. The strings are very easy to push against the fingerboard (as opposed to my Ovation) which means that you can play for longer periods of time without getting finger fatigue! Remember that developing callouses on your fingertips is crucial if you are a beginner or simply don't play very often.
PRICE: This guitar is clearly more expensive than your average acoustic guitar, so if you are looking for an average musical experience than this guitar is not for you. However, if you are willing to pay more for a guitar that will be much more enjoyable and rewarding for years and years to come, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.
Overall, this is an excellent buy for a reasonable price. You can't go wrong with a Washburn and the Timber Craft series is a cut above the Washburn WD and D10 series which I was also considering.

Hartke VXL Bass Attack Preamp Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)Bass effects are fun little diversions, until you find a good one. There are some that just can't be substituted. A good example of that is the QTron. If you have one (and use it) it is essential to get THAT sound. Personally, I don't use mine that often. Usually I play a down the middle mix of rock, blues, and soul ... all the classic tones. My main rig is an Ampeg SVT-2PRO with their 4 x 10 cab. It is about as tube gritty as they come. However, there is a certain flexibility that is missing. I want to be able to switch between that warm Jamerson tube fuzz on the soul and blues songs, to something a little more punchy for funk. The Attack pedal is PERFECT for this. It lets me dial in just what I want, and use the footswitches to turn the sounds on and off. With the two switches you get four sounds. It isn't going to give you wild distortion. It will, however, make it one click to go from a warm fat bluesy sound to a funky punch that are both worth the price of admission.

(More customer reviews)The owner's manual is not very good, TC could have done a much better job with it considering the price of the unit and the fact that it is full of switches and knobs. Still, after a short time playing around with the settings I was able to edit the factory presets and save my own, so it wasn't too bad. Some of the 30 factory preset sounds are not very useful, and others I loved and used right out of the box. I feel it has added a beautiful and clear sound. I only wish the tuner was more accurate, it's really useless.
Overall, I love my G-Natural, it has replaced all my existing pedals and simplified my playing setup.

G&L Tribute Legacy Guitar (Blueburst, Hard Rock Maple Neck) Review

(More customer reviews)Seeing the lack of a review for this product, I'll try to help you guys out. I've owned a Tribute Legacy for about 3 years now, and I've always loved it. I sold a Fender (MIM) Deluxe Super Strat to get it, and I've never looked back. This guitar is what the Fender Standard Strat wishes it could be, for the same price. The quality and cut of the maple used for the neck is far superior, The USA made alnico pickups sound much better than the standard Fender pickups or even the Tex-Mex pickups. The two-point fulcrum tremolo is much more usable, easier to set up, has better tuning stability, and a higher mass block for more sustain. And the Korean build quality is great, at least as good as the recent Japanese Fenders. I've owned a lot of Fenders, and always liked them, but I would put the Tribute Legacy up against any MIM or MIJ Fender and even the USA Highway 1 series. Great Guitar... only $499?? Get two!!
