Zoom G1N Guitar Multi Effects Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)The Zoom G1n is an absolutely amazing pedal for $50!! You won't regret this purchase. The pre-programmed sounds are good, and there's alot of variety, plus it is very easy to make-up and store your own sounds, too. I don't know how the G1n pre-programmed sounds compare to the original G1, but there are plenty of useable sounds for just about any style you want to play. Some are a bit over the top for me, so most of my own sounds are a little mellower. The tuner is great, and the drum machine is good, too (though I don't use it much). My only complaints are that the ZNR noise reduction seems a bit agressive to me, and I wish the housing was metal not plastic. I kinda wish I'd spent the extra money on the G2-- may have to upgrade later! But it still gets 5 stars. I bought the Zoom over the comparable digitec pedal because it has a nicer interface and it comes with a power plug included. This thing works great and makes any cheapo solid state practice amp sound way better than it is!! You would have to buy tons of stomp-boxes to get close to what you can do with this cool pedal. Recommended.

Peterson 3.5mm - 1/4in iPhone/iTouch Adapter Cable White Review

(More customer reviews)I think this is mainly intended to let you use your iPhone as a guitar tuner, and it probably works fine for that (I have a tuner so I don't need to use the iPhone for that purpose).
I purchased this little adapter so that I could plug my guitar into my iPhone 3GS and record my musical ideas in the early morning/or late at night without waking up everyone in the house (I use Moe's Notes for this purpose, great app!). You plug your guitar into one end, and plug the other end into the headphone/microphone jack on the iPhone. However when I ordered it, I didn't realize that it doesn't have a headphone jack or any output, so you can hear what you're playing into it! (I guess that's why it is one of the more inexpensive ones for this type of thing) I decided to hold onto it because for my purposes, I don't mind because I'm not really using it to do multitracking & can hear what I'm playing on the electric guitar without the need for an amp. However, if I wanted to record some instrument such as a keyboard that doesn't produce its own acoustic sounds, I would need to add a "y" cable to the mix to monitor what I'm playing. And if I do want to get into multitracking, I would need something that has an audio output so I can hear the other tracks I'm playing along with. So I will probably eventually one of the more expensive cables (or make my own) that do have audio output. However for now I am fine with this, the direct in sound quality is nice and clear (clear enough where I can import the recordings into Cubase or Cakewalk on my PC and do overdubs later if I so choose). For now I am happy with it, it's fine for recording simple ideas with an electric guitar or bass really fast - just plug in and go, you don't even have to mess with putting on headphones! I imagine you could plug a drum machine, guitar/keyboard and vocal mic into a small mixer and plug that into this, then monitor using the headphone jack on the mixer. But like I said if I need to get more fancy I'll get an input with audio out.
So anyway this is decent for what it is, just realize it has that limitation of no headphone out.

TIME: it arrived on time! (5/5)
PACKAGING: it came in an orange envelope, and then in a black box with the logo and name on it! The extra batteries were outside of the black box but inside the envelope! The tuner itself was in the black bag it said it would come with! (5/5)
QUALITY OF MAIN ITEM: no scratches, it was just in perfect condition! The way it moves and rotates in 360 motion, it is perfect and adjusts to the position you want it to! The only flaw about that is that the joints are a little loose! But still it gets the job done! (5/5)
PRICE: you can get an IntelliTouch PT10 for a higher price than this tuner, and this tuner does the same job for less! (5/5)
OVERALL: it deserves a 5 star because of the accurateness that it delivers to the user! It also has a mode for MIC or CLIP meaning that the MIC is used as a microphone and CLIP is used to feel the vibrations of the strings! I would recommend this to anyone who needs an electric tuner, its small and good!

(More customer reviews)I have had my share of cheap tuners and they never worked well. I own a Boss TU-15 and it works well with my electric guitars. Loads of features too. Then I purchased a Martin OM-21 and found the Boss a bit cumbersome because the Martin does not have a built in pickup. I heard good things about the Snark so for the really inexpensive price, under $20.00 I thought I would give it a try.
I am delighted how well this works. Very simple to use. Tunes up way fast and the accuracy is better than I could of imagined. The fact that it picks up the vibration of the guitar and not the sound makes it fantastic for tuning up in a noisy room. You can read about the simple but effective features in the product description. They all work as advertized.
This simple product has delivered the best bang for the buck of any piece of gear I own. I can't think of anything bad about it.

This tuner also has a built in pitch pipe for instruments so out of tune you don't know where to start.
If you are looking for a tuner for strings, always get one with a pitch pipe.

However, the tuner part is connected to the mounting clip by a poorly designed, thin piece of plastic, which broke too easily. Since no replacement parts are available, we'll have to buy a whole new unit. Our advice - save your money and find one that is better engineered.

It shuts down automatically if silent for 3 minutes - just about pin drop silence.
The LED glows green if the tuning is right or it glows red...it also highlights the letter for that chord to indicate the tuning so that you know you tuned the right one.
Requires 2 AAA batteries had to rush out to get some as this one doesnt come with batteries.

Farley's Pocket Tones PT-16 Chromatic F Tuner Review

(More customer reviews)After a dramatic (and quite embarrassing) failure with our gospel quartet's reed pitchpipe, it was time for an update/upgrade -- and the Farley's Pocket Tones got the job. So far, I'm pleased with the overall functionality, although the tone could be more aesthetically pleasing. It has all the timbre of a smoke alarm -- which is to say, it's a pure tone without any overtones. For the money, it can't be beat ... but I'd have paid a few more bucks to get a more subtle/pleasing/unobtrusive tonality.
