(More customer reviews)Is was a little concerned about the build quality of this amp, I watched some reviews online and found a video review where a guy complained about the build quality, so I was a little worried about it. But when it arrived all concerns went away, obviously the new amplifiers being shipped already tackled this construction issue, what they did is they still build it out of wood, but now they have an external (kind of a vinyl) layer simulating something similar to the speaker mesh, but in orange ( like some other big amps have). This totally solves al build quality issues, so it looks as well build as my Roland cube, but with more of a vintage look.
Volume wise, Is a LOT louder than the marshal mini amp, which I also own, I normally used my Roland Cube 20w to practice, which I loved because it has a "power squeezer" feature which converted it to a 2w amp, which is loud enough for any practice session, specially at home. well, this micro crush is even louder than the cube @ 2w. So volume wise is perfect for practice, will not match to acoustic drums, but is pretty loud for solo practice or warmup.
sound wise, this is where this amp shines the most, the clean channel sound pretty good if you keep the guitar volume to 3/4 ( this is probably because I,m using Texas specials pickups which are pretty hot and shiny. But as long as I keep the guitar volume there, the clean channel is really clean, with a little tweed feel to it. If I crank the guitar volume on the clean channel, I get a little overdrive if I play hard.
The overdrive channel sounds amazingly good, really rich overdrive with a blues feel to it, lots of tone options with the tone know ( good to see a real tone control in such a small amp). I bought this amp because a friend has an orange tiny terror and I love it's overdrive, of course you can,t compare it to the Tiny terror's tube warmth, but the overdrive Tone I love from the tiny terror feels the same on the micro crush, I LOVE the sound of this amp, if you are into blues, funk or rock, this overdrive channel is worth every dime.
You should here video reviews of the sound, because I noticed several people critics this amp because they don't like the distortion, and is a matter of taste, if you don,t like the orange blues/rock sound you shouldn't be buying an orange, get a Marshall or Randall instead, but if you are into this type of sound, this amp is definitely a must.
Compared to other mini amps, well, there is no comparison, this is a real amp to scale, the other ones are toys. I own a Marshall, a couple non-branded and the orange micro crush. The only one I haven't tried is the fender, which I would like to try.
I'm also a recording engineer and have a small studio at home, this is a perfect amp for recording at the studio, just throw an sm57 in front of it and you can't tell the difference between this and some of it's big brothers.
Finally, the tuner, easy to use and accurate. What else can you ask for on a $60 amp!!. Hhhhooo, I almost forgot, is an ORANGE.
SWEET!.Is THAT. Good!.
So my final recommendation would be, listen to it on the Internet, if you like that kind of overdrive, go for it, don't even worry about the build quality, all issues are fixed. And volume wise you will be amazed.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son to practice on. It sounds pretty good and sounds like a Marshall but it's fairly noisy - even on the clean setting. Also, I think it's outclassed by the new amps from Line-6 and Fender - particularly the Mustang I. I'll be exchanging his for the Mustang I which sound cleaner, can sound like a small tube amp, a Marshall and others for the same price. I think the Fender is a better value and more versatile.

I had been waiting for the ship date of the spider jam for some time and I was not disappointed! The backing tracks sound great, the artist created presets are awesome, and the drum tracks sound very professional! The features of this amp are great and most of all fun. Line 6 has a reputation for absolutely awesome sounding guitar amps and the spider jam is no exception. The hours really fly by when you're having fun and I really have given my guitars lots of playing time but is that not the point? (More customer reviews)Not a bad little amp - for what it is. VERY handy for portable practice, just got back from 2 weeks at the beach and it served wonderfully with my BluesHawk. Also turning out to be really convenient for quiet practice at home via headphones. Batteries (6Cs) and the included AC adapter both work fine. Built in tuner is convenient, it will get you real close at least.
I REALLY wish Line 6 would put (much) less emphasis on providing "Insane Rock Star Settings" - I guess its not hard to figure out their target audience, but come on - with only 5 amp models who really needs Crunch, Metal AND Insane?!? What about Blues (or even Twang)?...a model more for British/Classic Rock? Anyway, besides Clean, and a bit of Crunch, I do appreciate the inclusion of Acoustic mode for my Martin, which was a major reason I picked this amp over other similiar battery-capable ones (the other being that it's Line 6 as is my SV112 & Pocket Pod so functionality is familiar). Hmmm...but if it is for "portable practice", with an acoustic would one bother with an amp at all? Still, the choice is there for 'normal' practice situations.
Unfortunately, the sound does suffer through headphones, and background hum/noise are especially more evident. The same headphones sound much nicer and cleaner on my PPod. However I do not get the 'ground loop noise' with my Gibsons as I typically do through my SV - which is very good.
I did not try the CD/MP3 input yet - though the idea of using this as a speaker for an IPod is cool - definitely will make use of that.
I had a Roland Micro Cube for a very shot time, and that also functioned well. The amp model choices there were much more useful (for me), and I do not recall the headphones bringing down the sound quality.

Line 6 Spider IV 30 30-watt 1x12 Modeling Guitar Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)This thing is in limbo. It has too many functions to be a basic amp, and not enough to be a really broad-ranged amp like it's bigger siblings. It annoys me that it gives you effects, and then doesn't give you a whole lot of ability to fine tune them to your own tastes. The tremolo is especially annoying because you have no control over the depth, (which goes from all-on, to all-off) just the tempo. Another thing, and this is something that has become standard in the Spider series, is that the knobs are digital. While this is not a problem per se, it could be better implemented. When you change the amp model, it overrides whatever you had the knobs set to. This is a problem, because you have no idea what the positions of the knobs are for the presets, and you have to turn them a little to get control of the knobs function, which instantly throws it to the knobs current physical position (indicated by a dimple on the face of the knob, which, by the way is kind of hard to see in low light). Confused? Yeah, some kind of led's around the knobs to show their current digital position would be nice.
On the plus side, they should never crackle when you turn them, even 20 years from now!
The farther you roll the amp selector knob to the right, the higher the gain goes, so if you are trying not to disturb the neighbors, make sure you back off the master before you select Crunch, Metal, or Insane.
As far as sound quality goes, I don't have any complaints. It does sound pretty nice, it can be adjusted to give you a really clean sound, but, as is typical of solid state, it lacks the warm fuzzy tone of tubes. Not a knock really, just par for the course.
The instruction manual does not explain how to use the built in tuner function, and the FAQ's on the Line6 website seem to be describing the 15w model procedure, not this 30w (which is very different in the way it works), but you'll figure it out pretty quickly when you start turning the tuner knobs.Bottom Line: If I had a piece of advice to give to those of you on the fence, I would either get the 15w model, (because I really don't see enough extra features in the 30w model to justify twice the price), or step up to the 75w model which has 300+ presets (and it's probably loud enough to gig with a drum set, which this probably is not). I honestly don't see a hundred dollars difference here, if they had included the 300+ presets on this model, I would give it 5 stars, but as it is, it is a nice little 4-star amp.

Fender Starcaster Electric Guitar Pack with Amp and Accessories, Candy Apple Red Review

(More customer reviews)I am a bass guitar player, and own/have owned several bass guitars, including a Fender Mustang and currently a Fender Precision (Sting signature series). I have also owned a Fender Squier (6-string) guitar before. We ordered the Starcaster guitar package for my middleschool daughter.
It's a great guitar with great sound; honestly, the sound is fantastic. And there are a lot of peripheral items included at a fabulous price. We've had no problems at all with the cord or amp, and the sound that little amp makes it really clear. Hit the overdrive, and you get a nice distortion sound. You can't control the amount of overdrive (it's either on or off), but for a beginner or for household use, it's perfect. The compact guitar stand is very stable for its size.
A few other reviewers have criticized the guitar for string buzz. Well, you can adjust the bridge very easily. The package even includes the little hex-wrench needed to make the adjustment yourself. (Anyone that pays $100 for someone else to do such minor tweaking got ripped off ... you may as well pay someone to tune it for you.)
If there is one drawback to the guitar, the edges of the frets are a little rough, something I've never encountered with a Fender product before. I find it noticible, but I wouldn't even call it uncomfortable. And certainly not so rough as to cut up your hands, as one reviewer exaggerated.
One final note, the guitar not only sounds great, it looks beautiful as well. The candy-apple red color is rich and deep (slightly darker than the picture), and the finish has no flaws at all.
I have no hesitation recommending this to any beginning or intermediate player.

The speaker was able to handle any distortion I threw at it and it stayed clean and crisp. The output is much more then I expected for a 30 watt amp. I haven't played an electric guitar in years and wanted to get back into it, I knew I couldn't go wrong with Marshall. They were the top of the line when I was a kid and at 55 now, it still is top of the line. This is a great amp for the money. I could see using this amp for a garage band or playing in bars. I am really have a fun time with this amp. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy an amp for the first time or someone getting back into playing again.

Line 6 POD 2.0 Review

(More customer reviews)I've been playing guitar for 15 years now, and I've had a few different amps and heaps of stomp boxes over the years. Nothing will ever replace a real amp, or analogue stomp boxes, and I'm not claiming this little gadget will. So here's my situation and my impression of the Line 6 Pod 2.0:
I live in an apartment. My amps are long since gone (needed the money, so I sold them) but I really wanted something to plug into. Buying an amp really wasn't an option, unless I also wanted to find a new place to stay. I worked at Guitar Center years back and I remembered toying with these during the down time. So I picked one up a few months ago. I've been running it through my stereo system, and for what I do with it, I really can't complain.
The various amp models are all decent. You're not going to get a true Boogie or Marshall stack sound out of this. It does well enough so you can tell what it's emulating, but that's it. The special effects are nice. Simple to use and very functional. I really like all the knobs it has on it, as it allows you to sculpt your tone.
You'll hear some people complain about this. "It sounds sterile" or "That's not what a Vox sounds like..." Well, they're not wrong, but anyone looking for a pure sound out of a $200 digital device can't be that bright. The Pod gets the idea across, and it does a good job doing so.
I recommend the Line 6 Pod if:
*You live in an apartment and you can't have a real amp without getting evicted
*You live with other people and jam it out at night or when other people need quiet
*You're trying to record music and you want a variety of amp sounds and don't have a lot of money
*You enjoy like gadgets with lots of knobs and tons of different sounds to experiment with

It doesn't have a ton of features, but it has a clean and distorted channel (basically, you push the overdrive button to switch). It sounds good enough, even with effects pedals hooked up. I use it to mess around in the living room without totally aggravating my wife by using my full-size amp. Don't expect a super-expensive sounding amp with tons of features, but for a cheap way to avoid dragging out your big equipment, it is perfect.

(More customer reviews)Call me nuts but I love this amp. Good clean channel and great dirty. Seperate EQ's for both channels. The countour control on the dirty channel lets you dial in different amp sound from vintage to modern. I get a f'ing superb AC/DC sound on this amp and it packs a punch volume-wise. No probs this getting over drums bass and another guitar. The efects are good - 4 of each Chorus, Flange, Delay and Reverb. You cant adjust any of these effects, they come as they are. The only thing you can adjust is the level of the effect you're using. So if timing a delay is very important to you, then you're best using a pedal which you can regulate. I do love the delay in this amp though. There's a tube "switch" that supposedly kicks in the real sound of tubes. Well not quite. Using this feature sounds great at low volumes but when you're cranking it I find it muddies the sound a bit. It sounds fine when this is not activated.
It's light as well and that's a major plus as I've dragged around Fender Deville and that weighs a ton. I barely see reviews for this but I see plenty for the transtube The Peavy Bandit (which I also own). This is every bit as good as that, and the Bandit is a great little amp. It could do with a mid control on the clean channel and this is the main gripe I have with this amp. The countour does the job on the gain channel. Still, the clean sound is nice. Just dont expect a Vox or Fender nice. Remember you're paying 5 times plus less.
I'm a basic player in terms of what I want. Ive been playing for 30 years plus and I need a basic layout. No 5,000 knobs on an amp and a college degree needed to operate it for this guy. I have heard stories about Behringer quality but I've had this for 6 months and use it regularly and it's still holding up as good as day one. For the price its awesome. If you want a great little amp at a bargain price, especailly if youre a beginner, then seriously try this out!
