(More customer reviews)I play guitar in a number of different tunings. I may go through as many as five or six different tunings during the course of a performance so tuning is crucial. I have tried other tuners such as the Intellitouch and Tunetech tuners which I found adequate, but still left something to be desired in terms of locking into certain notes etc. I bought this tuner to run plugged into the tuner out on my pre-amp. Right out of the box, I was impressed by this tuner's note recognition. It recognized my 1/2 step up, CGCGCD tuning with absolutely no difficulty. The simulated VU meter is very smooth and realistic and is combined with red and green LEDs and an indicator on the left side of the display that gives the discrepency in pitch in cents. If you can't figure it out with all that, your situation is hopeless! The display is also nicely backlit to make visibilty easy on dark stages. There are only two modes: manual and auto, but it does generate pitch with a little speaker. The only thing I would like is on/off via footswitch, but, for the price, I'll take it as is. Wonderful! Way less money than TU-2 or Pitch Black and only a little more than the similar Korg. The large, BACKLIT display makes it worth that.

Sabine MT9000 MetroTune Chromatic Tuner and Metronome (LCD) Review

(More customer reviews)The metronome function is decent, but could be louder.
The tuner cannot register any notes in the bottom third of my tenor trombone range. Whenever I play a low note, the tuner gets utterly confused and becomes unable to register higher notes as well. Definitely don't buy this tuner if you're a low brass player. Perhaps this tuner was meant for string instruments?
If you're looking for an excellent tuner, I highly recommend the Boss TU-12H.

Fishman FT1 Digital Tuner Review

(More customer reviews)The FT1 does the job it's intended and has some nice features (like guitar, base and ukulele modes), but also has some shortcomings.
It's tiny buttons are hard to press and the dark screen makes it difficult to see when it's activated. Therefore, it's easy to forget to turn it off. I've also had it accidentally turn on while flopping around in a case or instrument bag.
When you strum a note the screen lights up green. However, the scale does not give an indication of the amount of "off resonance" a tuning is. It's either, simply, too low, on, or too high; no gradual tuning scale. This makes it real difficult to creep up to a note. The screen does change from green to orange when resonance to is obtained, but its acceptance window is extremely narrow making tuning a very touchy proposition.
If I buy another clip on tuner, I will look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)This is a newer tuner by Boss with double the accuracy from their old tuners. Boss added more lights to the front panel so it is easier to see how off you are out of tune. The battery is easy to change (no tools needed) and the lights are pretty bright to see in the sun. Of course, the pedal mutes the instrument when it's tapped, so this is great to tune up between songs. I use this for my violin, paired with the Boss EQ pedal, which makes the perfect combo for a musician on stage. Runs on a single 9 volt that lasts many many hours. Just remember to UNPLUG the input 1/4" jack when you're not going to use it for a while, otherwise it will drain the battery

Intellitouch PT10 Mini Clip-On Tuner Review

(More customer reviews)I just bought this baby to tune my acoustic guitar and its AMAZING!!! it accurately tuned every string with ease. The red to green back light is bright and clearly tells you when your in tune. This is a must for any acoustic guitarist. Built in mics are inaccurate and are disrupted by ambient noise, and because this tuner goes off vibration you are receiving and accurate reading. Though it can be used with electric guitars I think plugging an electric guitar into your standard chromatic tuner is more accurate.
So if you own an acoustic guitar I highly recommend this product you wont be disappointed.
