I had this pre-amp installed into a Tacoma Thunderchief acoustic electric bass. It sounds awesome and works great. My only complaint is that the sound is a little weak on my G and D strings up high on the neck. But I'm a bass player and I don't spend very much time up there. I give this pre-amp an A. Lanikai LU-21TE Tenor Acoustic Electric Ukulele Review

Lanikai LU-21TE Tenor Acoustic Electric Ukulele
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This ukulele arrived with Aquila ukulele strings complete with a warrantee. It uses a 9-volt battery to be hooked up to an amp. You don't have to hook it up to an amp to play, though. It plays beautifully as an accoustic as well. The fret board is just the right size for playability. Beautiful looking wood finish and nice rich sound. Well worth the money. The only thing is that you have to use a classical guitar/ukulelet strap, which is a sound hole strap. This Lanikai really lives up to Lanikai's advertising phrase....Lanikai makes my son happy!Lanikai LU-21TE Tenor Acoustic Electric Ukulele

First Act MG901 Lap Harp Review

First Act MG901 Lap Harp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We had a bit of trouble tuning the harp, and probably overtightened it in the process, as the string "popped" within the first 10 minutes of use. My advice: go slow, make very minor adjustments. Although it does come with a replacement string, there are no instructions on where to get ADDITIONAL replacements strings. Nor is there any info on the First Act website. I emailed the manufacturer and received this info: "Our lap harps use standard electric guitar strings (specifically, a . 015-gauge unwound steel string that would be tuned to the note "G" on a guitar) which can be purchased at any store that sells musical instrument accessories. You may want to check stores that specialize in guitars and guitar accessories, as those stores are more likely to sell individual strings so you won't have to buy an entire pack."
This would have been very helpful to include with the documentation. My kids really enjoyed it, but I was disappointed with the way it uses just one string for the entire harp. When the string breaks, the entire harp needs to be restrung. We ended up returning this harp and purchased a different brand (Music Maker) with 15 notes (8 strings).

Planet Waves Steel String NS Capo Review

Planet Waves Steel String NS Capo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This capos biggest strength, and it's only weakness, is that it has to be tightened each time you put it on. Get this capo if you're very aware of tuning issues that crop up when using one. With my old capo, which just clamps on at one tightness, my B string invariably gets too tight, bringing it noticeably sharp, even when I'm only capo-ing on the 2nd fret. With the NS, one can tighten it just enough to fret the strings without bringing them out of tune. I proved it to myself using a tuner. If you don't care about tuning to this extent, and you want ease of use, then you're probably better off with one of the other models. Since this is the only capo I know of that solves the tuning issue, and I found it in the process of trying to solve that problem, I give it five stars.

Rio Chiba 256 MB MP3 Player Review

Rio Chiba 256 MB MP3 Player
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There are several reasons for my selection of this RIO as my player of choice and I will explain as best I can. So read this review in its entirety. Before ever owning the RIO Chiba 256M, the first MP3 player I had ever tried was indeed a RIO (the RIO 800 128M model before the new line of RIO MP3 players were recently put out on the market). The look and size was as instrumental in my choosing of any MP3 player back then (as it is now). I was frustrated with bulky discman CD players for years....because the bottom line is you CANNOT wear them without skipping at some point (no matter how long the anti-skip protection is) or major player instability while attached to your body. These were MAJOR issues for me. So it was no mystery that I sincerely enjoyed the RIO 128M model especially because of its SIZE and the wonderfully convenient BELT CLIP!! It turned out however that after using this 128 M RIO player for about a month I had found myself longing for more songs thereby larger internal memory. It was then that I visited the RIO website and discovered the new line of MP3 players with the RIO Chiba 256 soon to come out. I concluded 256M would be enough internal memory for me so while waiting for the RIO Chiba 256 to become available, I tried and subsequently returned MP3 players from IRiver, Samsung, RCA, and Creative Labs. All had plenty of "bells and whistles" for features but none had the shear small size advantage AND compactness (belt clip convenience) of the RIO 128M model I used to own. The general EASE OF USE(ridiculously easy), battery-life saving feature (all RIO players shut off within 5 minutes of inactivity by default), great sound quality via the more advanced graphic equalizer, as well as a very attractive blue-backlit LCD screen were other secondary but still significant advantages the RIO model had, those other players did not! When the RIO Chiba 256 finally did come out I purchased one without a second thought.
And now I'd like to add something! All these reviews of "cheap this, cheap that" are frankly nausseating if not comical!!People, you do not purchase this or any MP3 player to lose sleep over "what material its made out of" or "what would happen if i dropped it compared to another model".Yes, this player is not made of some space age plastic or material but no MP3 player is.The reality is this player has SOLID construction. It is sold at 199.99 on the RIO website and not counting participating department store discounts(about 20 or 30 bucks) such as Circuit City, for a $200 dollar value you can rest assured you are getting something of good foundational quality)!AND it designed to be used and carried around LATCHED in the provided beltclip compartment.Once its secure in the beltclip compartment and latched on to you via your belt, there are no issues with battery compartment looseness and very little chance of the user dropping the player.Wow, imagine that...a beltclip, what a concept!!Yes indeed everyone is still clumsy at somepoint.Regardless I have dropped my model at least ten times since I purchased it, it remains in one piece AND the sound quality remains exceptionally!C'mon people, have a little practicality in your reviews!!!
Ease of use is OK, however the included RIO MP3 transfer("ripping")software has ONE flaw, it doesn't recognize every MP3 or WMA music file you have. The solution to this problem is very simple.Uninstall the RIO software if you have already loaded it, then download and use Windows Media Player 9.0 for your Chiba's transfering needs.Windows Media Player 9.0 recognizes and plays EVERY music file, including all the ones the Real Player can.I find it to be of higher quality and more reliable than Real Player(in regards to suddenly shutting/closing down due to bugs in Windows XP).
The best headphones for this player ARE NOT the included Senheisser earbuds, but rather Sony, the SON MDRW08L model to be exact.I would highly recommend you invest the $10 bucks these sell for. You will find out within 15 minutes of use why these are 5000 times more comfortable than the included "ear soreing" Senheissers not to mention complement your Chiba's graphic equalizer settings with ridiculously crystal clear sound(due to Neodynium magnets for sounddrivers in each earpiece).
I have been using the Chiba for about 5 months now, I believe for beginners or advanced MP3 player enthusiasts alike RIO makes the best overall MP3 player on the market!!

The sleek black Rio Chiba 256MB MP3 Player looks cool and sounds great through the included Sennheiser MX300 earbuds. With 256MB of memory you can enjoy more than 4 hours of MP3 (about 60 songs) or 8 hours of WMA (about 120 songs) music. Features: carrying case with belt clip; expandable memory up 512MB using SD or MMC cards (sold separately); FM tuner; USB cable; installation disk; quick start guide; connection to almost any computer; transfer of content between multiple PCs; 18-hourcontinuous playback and 5-band adjustable equalizer with presets. Songs purchased from Napster 2.0 are compatible with Rio portables. Please use the Rio Music Manager or the Windows Media Player 9 to transfer songs purchased from Napster 2.0 to your Rio. Perfection Planetary Violin Pegs, Set For Violin, 4/4 Size Review

Perfection Planetary Violin Pegs, Set For Violin, 4/4 Size
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife decided that learning violin was something in her bucket list so we got her a cheap instrument off an online bulletin board. The instrument was in OK shape, except the pegs slipped horribly and she struggled because the violin kept falling out of tune.
So that's where this product steps in. These pegs are geared down 4:1 so the tuning isn't "twitchy" and it's easy to get your pitch and keep it. As for installing these, you'll probably need to take this to a repair-shop; it is an involved process and it'd be easy to destroy your ax. Also be aware, that the pegs are literally glued into the peg box with epoxy. Once you've gone to planetary tuners you can never go back, period. But that's not an issue because the tuners work fantastically.
Here's the exact instructions:
Step 1-2
Reaming the peg hole with a 1:30 violin peg taper.
Step 3-8
Cut the peg to the proper length.
Step 9:
Moisten the peg hole with water
Step 10:
Apply a bead of polyurethane glue
Step 11:
Screw the peg in until the threads are flush with the peg box
Step 12:
wipe off any excess glue. Allow glue to dry completely before installing strings

Oscar Schmidt OG312CEB 12 String Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

Oscar Schmidt OG312CEB 12 String Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have played a few 12 string guitars in my day and never really got into them. I played An Oscar Schmidt OG312EB at Vic's Music in Montrose, CO and had to have it. It has inspired a ton of music and dollar for dollar has been the best piece of equipment that I own. From three feet away, it's beautiful but when you look up close, you'll see why it's not a $3,000 guitar. There are a few small blemishes from the factory. Small things like chips along the neck binding, a small crack in the paint where the neck joint joins the guitar and some pretty rough fret edges. Based on sound though, it puts to shame every $3,000 guitar I've ever played. Unplugged, it has a very bright tone with clean pure bass response. You can hear every string at near equal volumes. When plugged in, the on board electronics really shine. Everyone that's heard me playing it says that it sounds like ten people playing ten different instruments. It just resonates these beautiful tones between everything you're actually playing. When I play a basic E chord, it sounds like there is a backup band of strings, synths, and voices all harmonizing. The action and intonation is the best I've ever played on an acoustic and the electronics are amazing. If you're looking for a new 12 string, don't have a ton of cash to spend, and can overlook some cosmetic details, GO PLAY ONE OF THESE THINGS. It's the sound that really counts...right?

Ovation Celebrity CC28 Acoustic-electric Guitar, Black Review

Ovation Celebrity CC28 Acoustic-electric Guitar, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
i picked up this inexpensive acoustic/electric for playing at worship. I've owned electric acoustic guitars in the past and was very excited to find a slim roundback guitar that has good, reliable and consistent sound. It sounds good with or without the amp. The strings that came with it were a bit 'horsey' so I replaced them with lighter/brighter strings. It's quick to tune and holds tune well in inclimate weather. After three months, I decided that I like it enough to get rid of my electric guitar altogether. I'll probably upgrade to a more expensive version from Ovation -- I like it so much, I'm kind of wishing I had bought one of the upper-end models now.

Yamaha SB59 Silent Brass System for Trombone Review

Yamaha SB59 Silent Brass System for Trombone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I seached and searched but could not find any reviews of the SB59 Silent Brass System for Trombone. Well let me tell you my friends, stop reading and go buy it! I've been practicing now for 2 and half hours one room down from where my wife has been sleeping. And she's still sleeping! It can't believe it myself. She's not a heavy sleeper either. Really.
My horn with the pickup mute makes only a very soft muffled buzz. Much quieter than any normal horn mute. I have been hooking up pickup mute to my pc and using a computer based tuner, and multi-track recorder. And listening though the included headphones. Also I've been playing along with some mp3 music on the pc. Of course, you can plug the headphones directly into the control unit. It works perfect. There is a slight air restriction with the pickup mute attached. After 10min you will hardly notice it. Tone quality seems very good and realistic. It has an echo switch which adds a small bit of echo. The echo delay is not adjustable.
I got the SB59 so I wouldn't disturb my neighbors and family and I was not disappointed. And you won't be disappointed either!
I am really floored by how well this thing works. Can you tell?

Thanks for reading my review.Happy Practicing!

Mod Tone Vintage Analog Delay Review

Mod Tone Vintage Analog Delay

Just got my Modtone Vintage delay, and it meets all of my expectations - especially at the low amazon.com price! It does a great job on the 50's slapback type echo, which is what I bought it for. It also does the more spacey echo thing, but as I really don't play with that, I can't comment on how that aspect stacks up. The quality is so good I immediately ordered another Modtone pedal.

Orange Amplifiers Micro Crush PiX 3 Watt 9-Volt Mini Amp Review

Orange Amplifiers Micro Crush PiX 3 Watt 9-Volt Mini Amp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Is was a little concerned about the build quality of this amp, I watched some reviews online and found a video review where a guy complained about the build quality, so I was a little worried about it. But when it arrived all concerns went away, obviously the new amplifiers being shipped already tackled this construction issue, what they did is they still build it out of wood, but now they have an external (kind of a vinyl) layer simulating something similar to the speaker mesh, but in orange ( like some other big amps have). This totally solves al build quality issues, so it looks as well build as my Roland cube, but with more of a vintage look.
Volume wise, Is a LOT louder than the marshal mini amp, which I also own, I normally used my Roland Cube 20w to practice, which I loved because it has a "power squeezer" feature which converted it to a 2w amp, which is loud enough for any practice session, specially at home. well, this micro crush is even louder than the cube @ 2w. So volume wise is perfect for practice, will not match to acoustic drums, but is pretty loud for solo practice or warmup.
sound wise, this is where this amp shines the most, the clean channel sound pretty good if you keep the guitar volume to 3/4 ( this is probably because I,m using Texas specials pickups which are pretty hot and shiny. But as long as I keep the guitar volume there, the clean channel is really clean, with a little tweed feel to it. If I crank the guitar volume on the clean channel, I get a little overdrive if I play hard.
The overdrive channel sounds amazingly good, really rich overdrive with a blues feel to it, lots of tone options with the tone know ( good to see a real tone control in such a small amp). I bought this amp because a friend has an orange tiny terror and I love it's overdrive, of course you can,t compare it to the Tiny terror's tube warmth, but the overdrive Tone I love from the tiny terror feels the same on the micro crush, I LOVE the sound of this amp, if you are into blues, funk or rock, this overdrive channel is worth every dime.
You should here video reviews of the sound, because I noticed several people critics this amp because they don't like the distortion, and is a matter of taste, if you don,t like the orange blues/rock sound you shouldn't be buying an orange, get a Marshall or Randall instead, but if you are into this type of sound, this amp is definitely a must.
Compared to other mini amps, well, there is no comparison, this is a real amp to scale, the other ones are toys. I own a Marshall, a couple non-branded and the orange micro crush. The only one I haven't tried is the fender, which I would like to try.
I'm also a recording engineer and have a small studio at home, this is a perfect amp for recording at the studio, just throw an sm57 in front of it and you can't tell the difference between this and some of it's big brothers.
Finally, the tuner, easy to use and accurate. What else can you ask for on a $60 amp!!. Hhhhooo, I almost forgot, is an ORANGE.
SWEET!.Is THAT. Good!.
So my final recommendation would be, listen to it on the Internet, if you like that kind of overdrive, go for it, don't even worry about the build quality, all issues are fixed. And volume wise you will be amazed.
I'm not in any way endorsing or begin sponsored by orange (I wish I was). I'm just a guitar player ( mostly blues, funk, rock driven), and a 10+ years recording engineer.
I guarantee you won't regret to buy it.

I have played many bass guitars and this one is definitely one of my top favorites. It both looks and sounds great. This bass has a very clean and bright sound. It's hardware and pickups are very good quality, and the 3-piece body is seamless. I love playing this bass and I do so everyday. One of the best features about this bass is the price. For the quality of it, I would be willing to pay twice as much. Compared to a Fender Jazz bass, it is really the same thing, just stamped with Squier. I am expecting this instrument to last me for years to come.
